Contemporary fine artist Rosso

Rosso Emerald Crimson

Rosso's portraiture vividly brings to life women whose life stories and societal viewpoints mirror her own, encapsulating a deep personal connection. These portraits feature women with intent gazes and somber expressions, positioned in the limelight, thereby igniting the viewer's imagination and eliciting profound, personal reflections.

By weaving together traditional and contemporary painting techniques, Rosso achieves a unique blend that harmonizes the abstract with the figurative, creating a striking visual balance.

Her artwork, characterized by exquisitely rendered portraits and figures, seems to emerge from complex, decaying backgrounds, suggesting themes of renewal and emergence from periods of decline.

Rosso's artistic process represents a relentless pursuit of understanding the intricate interplay among her depicted human figures, the abstract settings they inhabit, and her personal emotional journey.

It is as though she is methodically uncovering the layers to expose the very heart of human existence.

In the world I depict, women are free, independent and empowered. Diversity is beautiful and the only colours that matter are those on the palette.”

Keng Wai Lee

Keng Wai Lee started creating his artwork since 2004 and have been showing and selling his work from his studio and galleries around the UK

He found that, to him  art / creative work is a subject with many definitions. For that he uses a lot of inspiration from the simple/complex story of "The Wizard of OZ " . He agrees and identifies with the misfits that is uneasy in their own skin.

Be it remembering all his childhood scribbles on his textbooks/school books full of monsters and robots in a apocalyptic world . His big question is: the earth is warming up, with all the imbalances  happening, will organisms down the evolutionary ladder one day rule?

The artworks are a subtle hint of what  Lee is delving about the state of our environment. Using human form, sexuality, iving organisms, florals, avian creatures,  etc and juxtaposing it into something fun and amusing, a bit political, danger and mysterious.

By doing that he is continuing to figure out how to have courage, heart  and brains. He came to the conclusion. All of us at some point , would know who we really are.. and then metaphorically  will be at HOME with ourselves. We do not really need the man behind the green curtain for advice as he turn out to be a fraud.

By creating a story, he aim to give the viewer a lasting impression, inspires and evokes memories, then he has done his job.

Contemporary UK Painter Michelle Watson

Michelle Watson

Michelle is a UK based Artist who studied for a fine art degree in Chichester university. Her practice focuses primarily on encapsulating the many scars and hormonal changes endured throughout a woman’s lifetime. Her choice of using raw cotton or linen canvas as a base on which to paint, adds texture and depth to both her application and colour. From the initial fluidity and free application of the ink used, developing into a many layered yet conscious application of the oil paint, a female form emerges.

Her large-scale artworks are indicative of her earlier theatre studies, before her undertaking of her degree, which she completed whilst raising her five children.

Last year she was a finalist for the Art Gemini Prize and has been longlisted for the women in art prize this year, has been preselected for the Threadneedle Prize and awarded the Stride cup and two-time winner of the Juliet Pannet award. She has had two solo shows and many collaborations. There are details of her publications and exhibitions on her website.

“There never is an end to the inspiration and significance that the Autumn brings”, and she uses this palette as inspiration to her process.

Currently she is working from her studio in Suffolk where she lives and works in the countryside.

“Through my artwork, I hope to let other women know that they’re not alone when enduring the difficulties and struggles of the ageing process. Painting the beauty of the female form juxtaposing the scars amassed through time. By combining my own experiences with those of the women within my paintings, I am attempting to capture an honest depiction of the ageing woman.

In exposing the scars upon the canvas, using oil paints and ink, I hope to encourage every woman to embrace the aging body and to love the body she’s in.”
